This blog is my first endeavor into the "typical blogging" sphere. I've had a Tumblr blog for about four years now, and while I love it, I thought the time was ripe for a new medium.
Now for a little bit about myself: my name is Rachel, I am 23 years old and fresh out of college. I graduated from Penn State in December of 2012 with a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Education with a focus in English and Communications. In layman's terms, I want to be a high school English teacher. In the past three months since graduation, I haven't been able to get my own classroom, but I have been working as a substitute. I love it so far! I hope to be able to use this blog as a place to document my experiences as a new teacher, from looking for jobs and interviewing to lesson planning and classroom ideas, and my successes and failures along the way.
I am a big fan of fashion and dressing myself. During student teaching my students often told me I was the "best dressed teacher in school," which I took a lot of pride in. I'll be using this blog to document my outfits, both professional and casual, my wishlists, products I love, and hair and makeup advice.
This time of my life is a huge transition for me. I'm still not quite used to not being a college student, and definitely not used to being a real adult. This blog will help me in my journeys to the real world, and I'm excited to share it with you. Thanks again for checking out my blog!
